About Us
Our Story: Born from a Need for Affordable Growth
Shread Companies was founded not just as a business, but as a direct response to a fundamental imbalance in the Richmond, VA housing market, which has seen a growing gap between median incomes and median home prices.
Our President and Founder, Neemit Shah, previously a financial advisor, recognized this critical need to help the community grow sustainably and affordably. After observing his own ownership of parcels, Neemit met with key industry leaders like Ryan Homes and Virginia Housing in May of 2025. This set the foundation for Shread Companies as a forward-thinking land development partner who could work with homebuilders from the very beginning of the development process.
Neemit's inspiration is simple: to ensure more families have the opportunity to buy, not just rent. By focusing on efficient land development, we are committed to building quality neighborhoods that truly bring families together.
Unity & Affordability
Community & Unity
We believe development should foster strong, connected neighborhoods. This commitment extends beyond the property line, involving local community projects and partnerships.
Affordable Housing Focus
Our key strategic partnership with Ryan Homes allows us to concentrate on delivering lots for more affordable housing solutions. We are dedicated to ensuring 85-90% of our projects align with this vision.
